The Gravitation and Cosmology group at the University of Salamanca has an intense research activity in a wide range of topics in the context of gravitation and cosmology.

The research on Gravitation was introduced in Salamanca by Prof. Jesús Martín in the 1970's. Initially we concentrated on exact and approximate solutions in General Relativity and gravitational waves. From the 1990's our scientific interests expanded to include Cosmology, Astrophysics and Relativistic Astrophysics. Our group has been regularly obtaining financial support from regional and national funding agencies. We have been selected Group of Excellence by the local governement of Castilla y León in three different calls, one of the few groups to do so in our region.
